After six months of renovations, the Animal Referral Hospital (ARH) Wollongong and Greencross Vets Fairy Meadow are reopening.
The updated facilities have seen the addition of five consult rooms (total nine) and an additional two surgical theatres taking the total to three. Animal Referral Hospital Wollongong now also features dedicated rooms for dental, ultrasound, endoscopy as well as refreshed reception area with a cat-friendly waiting area.
Dr Luke Michel, Veterinary Director of Greencross Vets Fairy Meadow, said they are incredibly excited to officially open the doors to the newly renovated animal emergency hospital and GP clinic for pet parents in the Illawarra area.
“To be able to offer GP services, preventative care, health services and advanced diagnostic imaging as well as an emergency hospital at the one location is really special and unique as it means we’re able to provide to exceptional care to pet parents.”
Located on Princes Highway, Fairy Meadow, Greencross Vets provides GP veterinary services, including vaccinations, wellness checks, dentistry, surgeries, and diagnostic imaging. ARH Wollongong has a dedicated team onsite to provide after-hours emergency and critical care services, including intensive care and emergency surgery services.
“The additional space we have acquired through these renovations means we will be able to treat more pets in the Illawarra area and reduce wait times for pet procedures. We are also proud to feature dedicated dog/cat waiting areas and procedure rooms which will provide low-stress environments for the pets.”
ARH Wollongong will also soon feature a CT scanner allowing vets to diagnose a range of illness onsite.
“CT scanners are a valuable piece of diagnostic equipment we can use to diagnose a wide range of conditions. The presence of a CT scanner at ARH Wollongong will save a lot of pet parents a long drive to Sydney for advanced imaging.”
Dr Michel said they are looking forward to welcoming clients and patients to the new and improved GP clinic and hospital.
